Possible kitchen disaster occurring right now |
|
Found my old bread machine (I think it's just easier making bread in the damn oven, but what the hell) in the attic when I got the Christmas stuff the other day. Only problem is, no instruction booklet and google didn't retrieve any results for the unit (it's old).
So, I'm winging it. In a couple hours I'm picturing a blob of semi-cooked dough poking out of the top of the machine, much like my stomach would, should I try on my wife's control top pantyhose. (I admit nothing).
I'll have the dog clean up the mess. She'll eat anything.

but I have to ask. Did you go to the manufacturer's website and look for the manual?
I found one for an ancient crockpot at the rival website.

7. I don't get bread machines.... |
|
Why on earth would you pass up the chance to get your hands on some nice dough?

9. Because you can set it on timer and awaken to nice, fresh baked bread. |
|
You can put the ingredients in the bucket, and then set the timer. When you get up in the morning, you'll have fresh bread...and if you have an automatic coffee maker--fresh coffee too.
:D
I don't use mine often, but it's great for that purpose.

11. I tried that once with my Mom's bread machine.... |
|
And I wasn't so impressed with the results... Overnight, the ingredients cemented together and the bread was lumpy and didn't really rise so well.
Now, when I have overnight guests and want to have fresh bread in the morning, I make it the night before and proof it. Then I'll fully bake it when I get up.

http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/party/msg1100495712618.html?8 Although your yeast may not be alive to wreak havoc - this is a very funny story (if your name isn't Jasper, and you aren't a fox terrier)

12. you beat me to it. A neighbor's dog ate a couple loaves of rising bread dough |
|
I don't remember them giving him pepto though..but they did have to give him something every couple hours to try to help minimize the yeast/dough rising.
