It's B/W right now, but the earlier day/color pics were incredible. And, the sounds of the Seregeti? Awesome. Beyond awesome. I turned off my Christmas music to listen to it.

1. Christmas music?
Dork.

Actually, I hate to admit this, but I've been really tempted to crack out my X-Mas CD the last couple days. I'm a failure in the war on Christmas.

7. You can't really see much until the daylight cam comes on.
This morning, there were elephants, giraffes, wildebeasts, some sort of gazelle, and a ton of birds.

I just love it. I would LOVE to go to Africa someday on a photographic safari, but this is probably as close as I will get for a while.

9. It was on this morning when I checked my email at 8ish.
I don't really know exactly where it is, so I don't know the time difference, but about 1/2 hour ago there was a really neat thunderstorm which was cool to listen to and I *think* I saw a shooting star.

In color though, I think it ends about noonish, EST. So, it's probably about 12 hours ahead/behind us.

12. I spent a summer in Africa a long time ago
10 weeks in the jungle forest of Central African Republic. I worked in a dispensary and lived with some missionaries. The sound of the jungle at night was amazing. A little scary. We were close to a river and there were hippos and elephants in the 'neighborhood'. I could hear the hippos stomachs at night- sounds like when your stomach growls, but 10 times louder. And I could also hear people screaming at the elephants at night. Somebody had to stay by the gardens to keep out the elephants, but if the elephants would come anyway, the whole village would come running with torches to chase them away.

It takes a village - to get an elephant out of your garden.

And I was scared of snakes but I never saw one. Lots of other crawly things though.

If you ever get the chance to go, take it. Its amazing.
