Where would you go on a honeymoon?
Especially if it was beachy and warm.

1. DH and I went to Costa Rica
Lovely place. Sat around at an eco-friendly resort for nearly two weeks. Perfect!

2. My fiancee and I plan to go to Eastern Europe...
not exactly beachy and warm -- but then, we get beachy and warm all the time.

If I was going to do beachy and warm for a honeymoon, I'd pick someplace that I probably wouldn't be able to get to except on a honeymoon or other extended vacay -- maybe Australia, or Hawaii, or perhaps someplace in Southeast Asia, like Thailand or something.

3. Your second sentence contradicts your first for me...spending more than a day at a beach
isn't my thing.

Assuming I had the $, and a week or so in which to do it (which would be tricky -- my SO and I are both students, and he has a child, albeit with a cooperative ex, and we'd need to accommodate both school and custody schedules)...Spain. If I had more than a week, Japan.

I suppose there are beaches in both places...

11. We DID go to Nevis/St. Kitts for our wedding/honeymoon!
You should go - it's beautiful. You'll love it. (Oh and it's still mostly "undiscovered" so it's not as tourist trap-py as many of the other islands. )

:hi:

13. Eureka Springs Arkansas or Helen Georgia
Two of the most beautiful little towns on the planet and the geography around them is awesome. Eureka Springs is chock full of old hippies from the 60's. Marvelous town. And you might want to consider getting married in Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs.

15. Montserrat or Portugal
"Irish Heritage – Originally settled by the Irish, Montserrat boasts a strong Irish Heritage. St. Patrick’s Day is a national holiday with a week of celebrations, Montserrat style. As soon as you arrive and the Immigration Officer puts a green shamrock stamp in your passport, you will realize that you are in an extraordinary place. Read the chapter on Montserrat in Pete McCarthy’s book, “The Road to McCarthy” (one very funny travel book) and you will definitely want to pay the island a visit."

And if you haven't read "The Road to McCarthy", I highly recommend it.

Their is nothing there. If there is, I'm suprised that the volcano didn't destroy it! I hear that Turks & Cacos islands are beautiful.

18. The Greek Isles are beautiful
and exotic. Costa Rica is absolutely beautiful although (IMHO) where I was, the northwestern coast, riptides made the beaches unsuitable for swimming. Hotels are inexpensive and truly luxurious. Plus, geckos hang out poolside. What more could you ask for?

20. Camping - no beaches for me
Camping deep in the wilderness where you bounce in on a rough track and there are no bathrooms or washing machines or other campers or playgrounds or anything that hints at the presence of man besides our tent and the vehicle we came in with.

Oooooh, now I wanna go! :bounce:

34. Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda BVIs
However, if you don't mind spending a little extra...here is one of my favorite (w/o kids) spots...

Not only is a fantastic place, there are many resort and island activities. They got a whole fleet of boats, a dive shop, charters, hiking trails. Not sure if they still do it, but you can trade a night from your room/cottage for a night on one of their sail boats.
