I slept for 10 hours last night. |

11 to 9. There was no alcohol involved, either.
That Contracts exam only took 90 minutes of my life but it completely wiped me out. (Now I get to forget about it until late January, when grades come out. I have no sense whatsoever over how I did -- I don't think I failed because the prof said nobody's failed that test in years; I don't think I won any awards for my performance because, well, it's Contracts, but beyond that? No clue. Oy...)
And I have zero motivation to study for my Crim Law exam (which is Thursday). I'd rather study torts (next Tuesday). Or do laundry. Or scrape the ice off my car...you get the idea.

1. Whenever I think of law school, I think of "The Paper Chase" |
|
It just seems...incredibly grueling. I don't know if I could ever handle it.
You'll make a damn good lawyer, that's for sure.

4. Thanks! Do remember "The Paper Chase" is outdated. My experience so far has |

been no more grueling than my previous job, except for these last couple of weeks...and then I get a month off, so I can hardly complain...:D

That guy's got exams later than I do, then we go to Texas for Christmas, and then he's taking a winter class that starts January 2. So he may not have time...but we'll see.
(Hm...maybe sometime we can go on a weekend, take Kiddo to a museum or something, and get together with any interested/available parties for lunch...)

I felt like my brain didn't work for weeks. It was hard to make my brain work academically again.
I bet you did well. Find some brain dead activity to do for a while.

You certainly can't have a guilty conscience and sleep so soundly. I think of sleep as a great cheap way to feel better about life. Is your crim class procedural or substantive? Torts was the most fun subject in law school. Yes, I'm a lawyer.

7. Crim...mostly substantive. Some incidental procedure. |
|
The test is open-note/open-book (yeah, I know, I should study as though it's not) and I took last year's test and did pretty well on it without even looking at the notes, so I'm not too concerned, but...
I've got the policy stuff down cold. It's the WI law vs. Model Penal Code stuff I need to hash out (I'll be making a grid -- that will be useful for "how does WI handle felony murder? How does that differ from MPC and the traditional common law?" questions).
Homicide, inchoate crimes, defenses. We also did theft but that won't be on the exam (we had a paper on that instead).
I like torts -- both the subject and the instructor (unlike contracts, where I like the instructor but not the subject, and unlike crim, where I would like the subject fine if not for the instructor sucking all of the life out of it).
Next semester: Constitutional Law (yay!), Property (:scared:), Civil Procedure, and Legal Writing/Research II.
