Is it bad that Lady Macbeth is my new favorite tragic heroine? |
|
Damn, the woman is terrifically evil. Does she ever know how to drive Macbeth! And her Act I, Scene v soliloquy about the demons is priceless.
Macbeth, you easily manipulated wimp! Bow to your psychotic wife!

5. I like her up until she wigs-out from guilt and remorse. |
|
Up to that point, she had the makings of a truly first-rate evil character, as good as Richard III (the fictionalized one). Then she starts all the 'out damned spot,' stuff and goes nuts: a feeble copout.
I'd have liked it if she'd played all the macho men for fools and ended up ruling Scotland herself.
