verbatim? 'Cause their father sure seems to think so.

*whistles innocently*

And her older sister knows the chorus to "Show Biz Kids," too!

3. Not at all
Good music transcends generations.

:toast: When you're of age, of course.
In the meantime, a DU

5. My kids can sing all of Johnny Cash's, most of Waylons and a good
deal of Merle. We also have a tape called Americana with "Saginaw, MI", "Sink the Bismarck" etc... that they can sing along with. :hi:

7. Show Biz Kids has a nasty word in it

I'd recommend the younger one stick with 'My Old School' and 'Reelin'. 'Do It Again' has been way overdone.

Have her substitute 'Bodhisattva' :D:thumbsup:

(You're a GOOD cousin)

12. She likes the piano/synth hit at the end of "Bodhisattva."
I don't think she can wrap her head around the word "bodhisattva," though. Perhaps I should spell it out for her.

What's really bad is that you started a thread about it. ;)

Steely Dan...is not that good, in my opinion. If you want good classic rock, listen to lesser-known songs by The Stones, or Zeppelin, or Clapton, or Hendrix. Teach those to the kids instead...not all of them, though. Don't want a kid singing "Mother's Little Helper," after all.

*ducks the inevitable reaction*

14. I love the Stones, Zeppelin, Clapton, Hendrix.
(And no, "Mother's Little Helper"--good song!--would not be a good sing-a-long.)

But I still love Steely Dan. Fagen/Becker are so fucking weird. It's awesome. :P
