Could I get a better deal on a laptop AFTER Christmas?

My wonderful wife and darlin' daughter want to get me a laptop for Christmas.
Wonder if I could get more bang for less buck by waiting until after-Christmas sales.
I'm grown up enough to postpone gratification a day or two.

Any experience with after Christmas computer sales?

1. I don't remember computers going down in price just because it's post-Christmas

Like so many other products do.

But, since it's the world of computers, more than likely they will be chaper in a month. Not cuz it's after Christmas, though - just because it's another month gone by.

It's the maddening thing about computers - I've wanted a new one for a while, but every month they go down in price, so it's a constant war between the me that wants a new one NOW and the me that knows in another 4 months they'll be twice as powerful and 20% or more less in price...

2. My daughter belongs to Costco.

I'm thinking that might be the best deal.
Basically, I don't want them to spend that much, but since they're determined to I want to make it as financially painless as I can.
