Sweet! Every issue of the New Yorker, to April 2006, on a USB drive! |
|
Just got a Levenger catalog today, and they have that - a small USB drive with every issue of the New Yorker, in color, indexable and also with the ability to write one's own notes and save them.
$298.
I won't buy it, but I do think it's fucking cool. It's an idea I wish I had thought of - putting the entire run of a magazine on a small harddrive.
Perhaps they'll do Punch next? That would be sweet!

That seems like a rather steep price.......
Of course, it is a lot of data......
So you get the Levenger catalog too? I love it!
I can't afford most of their stuff, but I love the little items....
Everything in there is so well made...... :hi:

Except their stupid fucking ring binders - but a friend of mine swears by them, and she's used them in her professional life for years, and will never give them up.
So, one's mileage, as always, will vary. But I found the pages constantly a pain in the ass to turn, parts of the pages come out of the little plastic holdy thingies, and they're just pain's in the ass in general.

3. If the ring binder is causing you ass-pain, you're almost certainly using it wrong |

The NY USB drive sounds extremely cool - albeit a bit steep for me at the moment. The way I lose USB drives I'd have to attach a $300 one to a cinder block if I want it to stay accounted for...
