I saw my ex-girlfriend a few days ago. She looked like hell, mainly because she just got out of jail on her 2nd burglary and drug possesion charge. She's in a halfway house and not doing too well. She's lost her killer looks, her fab clothes, her bling, her car, her killer do nothing job that paid more than 3 times what I ever earned, and her 3 kids by 3 different fathers.

On the other hand, I've lost 45 lbs, am in great health, am married to a beautiful, intelligent, loving woman, have killer job with killer benefits, paid-off house, and all the techie toys and comfort I can realistically want.

What did I say to her? "Here's the $20.00 I owe you."
What did she say to me? "Thanks, I really need it to get some blow."

Living well is ALWAYS the best revenge!

I know she may have hurt you but I always find it especially heart-breaking when women lose their kids, knowing what both mother and even moreso the children have gone through to get to that point.

It was a relief to all parties. No sign of the fathers for over 5 years. She couldn't take care of them and realized it after her first arrest for burglary and drug possession with intent. The kids got placed in foster care, and eventually adopted by three great families that were known to both of us.

As to having been hurt by her, there wasn't anything that she hadn't done to hurt me, and she did it deliberately, with malice and forethought. I'm sorry her life is starting to crawl out of the dumpster, but she jumped in voluntarily and with great enthusiasm, and wallowed in it for over 25 years. She made her choices, knowing full well the ramifications.

She did have the final words in our meeting, "It sucks to be me!"
I was polite enough not to voice any agreement. :)
