Anyone here witness the Phoenix Lights in March 1997? |
|
Okay, I started a topic about bigfoot and am now asking about a famous mass ufo sighting. Please don't think I am some conspiracy nut.
I have been fascinated by the Phoenix lights story for awhile now. It wasn't til recently when I caught up with a friend of mine who moved to Gilbert Arizona and began telling me about the people he has spoken to in the Phoenix area who saw this back in 1997. He is a great storyteller but I also find him as someone who is not gulable and is very sensible. He has told me that everyone he has talked to about this tells the SAME story and he is convinced that something occured that night. The flare story has been debunked as far as I am concerned. Was just curious if anyone here from Arizona has any stories they wish to share.

1. I lived in Tucson at the time of the lights. |
|
Funny thing is, the lights were supposedly seen over the Tucson area also but I don't remember a single local news report about the incident at the time it happened. I heard about it a few years later on some History Channel show.
I live in the Phoenix area now and no one that I know here saw anything.

Wow! My friend says he went into get gas one day and heard someone behind the counter telling a customer about it.He talks about how people at work saw it also including a police officer. I have only recently become intersted in it. I think mostly because of him talking about it. Anway, thanks for the story.

4. See that's the odd thing for me. |

Nothing was reported in Tucson about the lights that I can remember. Of course, Tucson seemed to have a bug up their butt about Phoenix and would't report on anything that happened here short of Phoenix being totally destroyed in which case they probably would have throw a party.

I remember the stink when someone floated a rumor about Phoenix building giant fans to blow the pollution down south! IIRC, it was one of the New Times' April fool's pranks but it got picked up as true.

that so many people saw it is what amazes me. Is it one of ours being tested or is it something else? By the way, I was working 3rd shift in March of 1997 & I just happened to be listening to Art Bell. Callers were calling into his show going wild. It was pretty interesting hearing this all live. Looking back on it I think it was probably one of Art's best shows!
