I admit to being a former TSO (The Sims Online) addict, and have been playing Neopets for years. I gave up TSO, but Neopets has me firmly ensnared. I don't think I'll ever grow out of it. :)

I used to play Scrabble at Games.com, a couple of years ago. I had a really high rating, too. But the site got icky with stupid people, so I gave it up.

Overall they are way too much of a time suck and my ADhD makes it impossible to stay up to date with any particular group. I much prefer solo rpgs or limited scale multiplayer rpgs. I love the idea of a persistant online world to explore. But they are geared such that you have to be part of a large enough group that sinks a ton of time into the game. Way too much of a commitment for a game for me.

I almost always solo when i play WOW. I like the idea of exploring. I'm doing WoW as escapism.... If I want to chat with people online, I come here.

However, if you are a WoW player, maybe we can go exploring together one day... It might be fun with someone else who feels similarly about Massively multiplayer RPGS. (not even trying the acronym there!)

35. I played Asheron's Call, Final Fantasy XI and World of Warcraft...

...obsessively and all-consumingly for the best part of three years. It was only when I noticed a vaguely familiar figure holding two suitcases and heading for the front door that I realized my wife may not have shared my enthusiasm. Much groveling and apologizing later, she agreed to stay. Since then, I've managed to wean myself down to no more than 6 or 8 hours per day of online play.

I played Asheron's Call II as well, which had a lot of potential, but was let down by poor support from Turbine. I had a Human battlemage, a couple of Tumerok characters and a Lugian Tact that I loved.

When I was 10 I was a Pogo addict, too. (Sweet Tooth and Word Riot were my favorites--I played Word Riot for two hours straight ALL. THE. TIME.)

Oh, and in seventh grade I was a Neopets nerd. Like, a HUGE fucking Neopets nerd. I had the Secret Lab Map, I had been published TWICE in the Neopian Times, all that, and almost cried when my beautiful Eyrie got lab-zapped into a Moehog. Then I went to Quebec over New Year's 2004/2005, away from internet access, and just never went back to my account even after I had returned home. It was kind of weird, actually. If my account is still on there, my user info page will still be Christmas-themed, which is how I left it--apropos, I guess. :D

Right now I'll play the occasional Zone Hearts game, but my online interests have switched from gaming to politics/music.

I played for a bit in the social rooms a couple of years ago and thought I'd try a tournament. I took a 3rd in the first one I played in and was hooked. In the particular tournament room I frequent on a monthly basis I am usually rated between 3rd and 8th out of >1,000 players. There are also team tourneys in some of the rooms and those are even more fun.
