I love grad school...I love grad school... |
|
I just wrote this.
"I am proposing to study the impact of weakness in basic math skills on the ability of students with learning disabilities in mathematics reasoning to learn Algebra."
What I *really* want to propose is that I take my happy ass to bed, but that won't get me much of a grade for Methods in Ed Research...

I opted out of grad school and have always regretted it. I think it's excellent you're going to make it.

Makes me feel better about my own lack of a grad degree. (I still wish ulysses the best in getting through his stress and sleeplessness--good luck, ulysses!)

neither of which I was really interested in, but it also proved to be a motivator for me to goto the library and do more reading and also to write. It just seemed like I was doing alot of my best learning on my own, and classes and professors, if anything, were just getting in the way. The teaching, of course, was a great, if arduous learning experience.
Looking back, however, it seems like I quit at the wrong time, because after two years I could have cut back my course load and taken some hours in 'dissertation' which would give me more time for my own studies. Then again, I think I learned many practical things in my field of economics by working in factories and by running my own businesses.

7. Hey, if you need an IRL study for that thesis, let me know. |

My son has ADD and learning algebra has been tough because he is deficient in his basic math skills. He took pre-algebra last year and so far, this year, he is getting a B+, but it's been a struggle.
