Welfare workers to quiz Britney over 'parenting concerns'

Britney Spears is to be investigated by social service officials concerned about the welfare of her children, it has been reported.

The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services is apparently trying to track down the singer for a meeting.

‘The department has been calling Britney trying to set up a meeting with her, so they can check on Sean Preston and Jayden James,’ a source told the New York Post.

‘The calls started after this recent bout of bizarre public behaviour.’ Her antics are also said to be worrying her mother Lynne.

1. I wonder how any other mother would feel with this much public pressure...
on how she is/is not raising her kids? She's got money and fame... but she's still flesh and blood, last time I checked. Maybe a bit of silicone, too.

2. In 2007, she's also looking forward to "a new me"
The way I was raised, and the way most are taught, once you have a child, you life is devoted to that child.

Brit's mum and the authorities are quite correct in their concerns.

3. Except Britney's mother
seems more devoted to her kids' careers than to her kids. :hi:

5. Well, she does seem to put her kids at risk.
Britney has the right to have a life and make stupid choices, but she seems to be dragging her children into them (i.e. driving with a newborn on her lap, her oldest son's mysterious head injuries a while ago, and taking a baby to nightclub).

CPS has to investigate any reports that it receives. If someone reported Britney, they should track her down and meet with her. That doesn't mean that they take the kids away or take her rights away. All that it means is that they find out whether the allegations are founded and what they next steps should be. In many cases, CPS can help parents to access resources like parenting classes (though Britney should pay for hers on her own).
