9. No, a tie is about 1/8th the material in a shirt.

4. Your own kid? Does he have a job?
If he wants clothes that expensive I would think it would be important to have him pay for them himself.

11. OK, so I'm trying to figure out what you are complaining about
Edited on Fri Dec-08-06 08:16 PM by Beaverhausen
really, give me a clue. Thanks!

Edit: Oh- you are complaining that the tie is that expensive compared to the shirt? OK- got it- but I think ties can last a long time and you get what you pay for.

Jerry Garcia ties rock!

14. I'm complaining about the amount of material used to make a shirt compared
to the amount of material in a tie, and the tie still cost 1/2 as much as the shirt. I'll have to check out Jerry Garcia ties. Where?

5. Yeah, it can get expensive, but...
...what age are we talking about?

"First" implies it's not something like senior prom... Anything short of that, well, don't buy 'em. I didn't for my kids, and while there was another notch in the "worst father in the world" bedpost, they (and I) survived... :)

I wouldn't pay that much for a tie regardless. Granted, I tend to wear mostly silk ones, but I get 'em for 3 bucks at Goodwill.

12. I'm making him save it for his Senior prom are you kidding! lol He'll be
wearing that shirt for the next 10 years! I didn't realize the tie was $40.00 bucks until I was pressing it and removing the tags and went sheeeeeeet!

6. Well first... if its a kid (like under 18) RENT....why would you even consider buying ???
Try Men's Warehouse or any other quality mens apparel outlet (avoid formal-ware rental "specialists")...

Trust me you can get a "Bond" or "Pimp" classic for $80/night....$120 if you put on the Ritz.
