Happy Feet vs Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer

So we are sitting here wrapping presents and watching Rudolph. Why isn't the religious right/GOP up in arms about this movie? I mean if Happy Feet and it's penguin that refuses to change has got them up in arms how is it this movie with its collection of characters that won't change and includes .... well... this guy:



He isn't like the other elves. He certainly doesn't talk like the other elves. And yet this is on their list of movies to watch? Seems to me its the same plot only more blatant about it.

1. Most of Rudolph is spent screaming conform or be exiled!

I also cringe at the point where Donner is going out to look for Rudolph and the mother reindeer wants to go along. He tells her that it's man's work, or something along those lines. We skipped it this year on purpose.

2. I haven't seen that movie in ages...

But then again, I'm not into "fuzzy" holiday movies.
