Poll question: Ordering pizza without human intervention
other than your own. Thoughts?

1. Other...
There would be a lesser chance of the order getting dicked up.

2. You mean no human taking the order, or no human fulfilling the order?
Even though I live within two miles of several local pizza places, none of them deliver, so it's chain city if we want to order in. In that case, I like Internet ordering. I don't have to talk to anyone or repeat "easy on the cheese, please"/"OK, double cheese, what else?"/"NO, I want HALF the cheese"/"OK, double cheese on half, what else?" and I can pay by credit card but still tip the driver in cash.

If you're asking me to speculate on whether I'd like a pizza to magically appear at my doorstep, the box and its contents untouched by human hands...meh. I guess a non-liberal trait of mine is that I don't mind technology that replaces jobs -- after all, if we used that philosophy we'd be digging ditches and tilling fields by hand, but we would have full employment -- but I wonder if robotic pizza creation would turn out even more standard and vapid than the chains already are.

7. No human taking the order
Until we invent teleporters (or food replicators), someone has to make/pick up or deliver the damn thing.

Of course, according to many Starfleet personnel, replicated food sucks anyway. :P

4. Other -- more expensive ripoff
I shop on Papa John's online every now and then -- but always call to make the order. I usually save 10-20% by calling due to local specials that aren't on the website.

6. They used to have specials on the website, it was cool.
Now that it's so expensive I won't use it

5. Other
I like the human interaction of calling Manny down the street for my pizza and cheesesteaks, he has a passion for cheese which shows in his products. I have never received anything remotely plasticky from him, which I have from other pizza places.

10. We can order other things online. Why not pizza?
I don't think it really eliminates many jobs, at least per pizza place. One per shift, if that.
Eliminating check out clerks at retail and grocery stores does eliminate severl jobs per store and adds a lot of extra work for the customer.
