Damn, I can't sleep
The wife and kid are out of town visiting relatives. I am alone with the dog and cat. My routine is all screwed up. Does anyone else stay up half the night on the Internet when the family is away?

4. Hey, Lucky. sometimes I stay up half the night when my family is...
sitting right next to me. (Only one husband and no pets.)

He's the worst insomniac... Just can't get him to unwind before midnight or 1 AM. Last night, we got to bed at 2:30 AM.

Suggest the standard things -- cool room, but not cold; soothing music; warm milk; turkey slice if you have it; chamomile tea; darkening shades; face mask; soaky bath. You do have to get away from TV and the computer -- when your retinas are focused on a bright object (monitor or TV), your brain is signaled that it's light... it's morning... time to get up!

I also have a Marsona sound source machine to give me a beautiful white noise of waves and over-ride the nutcases who zoom by in their souped-up cars with their music blaring.

Do you have to work tomorrow? If not, sleep in, buddy. Goodnight, Lucky... try to get some rest.

Me, too.

5. I'm not ready to sleep yet, just got home from
working overtime. Darned bitterly cold out there.

How are you doing Lucky? Don't see you around much anymore. You know you still have a place you know where :)
