and obviously I totally missed the point of this thread.

10. my dictionary does not define that word
can you post a picture or something?

I understand there is some kind of baked good called a 'pasty'. When I was editing a coupon book I assumed it was a typo of "pastries" but I think I was wrong and that bakeries sell "pasties". Either that, or they make that typo in other ads.

12. Cornish pasty
fine chopped or mashed potato & veg at one end, with minced meat at the other end, all wrapped up in pastry. Cornish miners would take them to work with them, since they comprise a whole meal in one package.

41. I love Cornish Pasties
they are a small crust pie that you hold. They were popular with the miners. Some people would fill one side of the pasty with sweet pie filling and the other half with meat and potatoes. Complete meal. Apparently the shape was so that the miners who ate them could hold them without the arsenic on their hands contaminating the food. The corners where the pasty is held would simply be thrown away.

They are VERY filling. Good comfort food.

53. Slightly, yeah
They're these little metal discs that go around (and over, in some cases) your nipples.

Slide it on, put your nipple ring through to hold it in place (oh yeah...you need pierced nipples to wear these) and you're ready for the day.

49. What movie was it
where the teenage kid was having "improper relations" with a pie, when the old man walks in a catches him?

Do not try this with a pasty, at least not until it cools down. Damn blisters!

Pasties stay warm for a long time, another reason they were popular with the miners.

Good question, though.
