Is it normal to take 2 hours to burn a DVD-ROM

2. Depends on the speed of your writer and how much data you're writing.

2 hours doesn't sound all that abnormal to me if you're burning a full 4.7 GB DVD. 4.7 GB is a lot. :shrug:

It took 30 minutes to get to 25% and a further 30 minutes to get to 50% and I kinda spotted a pattern emerging.

And that's a really broad estimate. DVD writers are pretty fast.

Mine isn't all that new. Got it maybe two years ago. One of the first dual-layer drives that came out. I don't even think burning a dual-layer disc took that long. Haven't burned one of those in ages though.
