I just don't like NASCAR
Nothing wrong with it's fans...I mean I don't like competitive badminton either.

But I can't even sit through the movie "Cars" as the whole subject of NASCAR bores me to death.

3. No, I was born & raised in NC and never have understood the appeal
or cared about it in the least.

I'd rather watch paint peel than cars go around and around.

I just LOVE watching cars go around and around and around 500 times and spending hours doing so. :sarcasm: It's boring as hell to me. It's the same reason I can't watch golf. :yoiks:

playing golf is different than watching it, I don't get watching it.

What I don't get is the announcers. Do they really need 3 guys in the booth describing the action?

21. Hate NASCAR, Pro Football, Pro Baseball
I do like soccer especially world cup, and European leagues- and of course Matthew's league :)

I love college basketball

I like college football

I will only watch college baseball or pro if I go to the game

watching cars go round and round is as boring as watching a golf tournament on TV to me.

Now sometimes I've enjoyed the X-treme sports on ESPN, but rarely have seen it.

Just have to bring attention to themselves by "hating" something millions love.

What the fuck is the point?

Since when did we become the party of abject condemnation for everything that is liked by others, Liberal or Right wing?

Those of you who have become haters because you don't understand something should move over to Freeper land and join them.

I wish I could get this thread locked. It serves NO purpose except for someone with NO life trying to bring attention to themselves.

I thought we were the party of inclusion not blindness?

31. I think you're really overreacting.
Not everyone has to like everything. And just because some people want to talk about why they don't like auto-racing doesn't mean they're looking down on those who do.

No one in this thread has condemned anyone for liking Nascar. We've only been discussing the reasons why WE don't. That's not exclusionary. It's sharing opinions.

unless for some reason it involves watching it with my Uncle. .I think it because he's watched so much racing over the years he can just tell me random stories.. and do it in a way that he makes something I usually don't like sound totally interesting. . .

of course if later on I try to watch it without him. . it's really boring once again.

Racing is a central part of Cars, just as tap dancing is to Happy Feet.

As for tap dancing, however, I do like Gene Kelly movies for some strange reason. Not sure why because I usually hate musicals.

62. NASCAR has become total crap.
Between "common templates" and the "Car of Tomorrow", there is virtually no differentiation between the brands of cars. What incentive is there for the manufacturers to do anything different or innovative? I don't think it's coincidence that the profile of the Big 3 has diminished as NASCAR has become more popular. Never mind that it's now more important for a driver to be telegenic (to keep sponsors happy) than it is to be skilled.
