So, I have this friend ....
Edited on Sun Dec-10-06 06:25 PM by Bullwinkle925
who has sold her home here in the Bay Area and moved up to the mountains. She has been wanting to do this for some time. They have been up there approx. 2 years now and to date:

She fell into her trash can and broke her nose.
Hubby was chopping wood - chunks of wood (twice) flew into his
shin and he blacked out.
Hubby broke a tooth at one of the restaurants there.
Hubby tore his Achilles tendon a couple of months ago on the
job.
A tree fell on their house in the past 24 hours.

Not saying, but ya think perhaps it wasn't a good move for them?

1. That all depends
What kind of crappy stuff happened before they moved out of the city?

2. I hope they're heavily insured.
And I wish them the best of luck.

3. Well, they avoided
car accident, getting mugged at the local 7-11, breaking a tooth on cityfood, being attacked by the neighborhood pitbull, falling off the curb when getting out of way of bicyclist. Poor people.

4. actually,
my friend was mugged at an ATM years ago. that is one of the reasons she has moved up into the mountains. she really wants to be in a more isolated locale, i think.
she and i have laughed about all of their misfortunes since 'the move'.

6. I don't know.
They've got a HEX on them. We've got to light candles and chant, I think.

7. I lived in the Maine woods for seven years.
When she or her husband try to light the woodstove and set their own hair on fire, THEN it's time to leave. IMHO.

9. Stuff like that is pretty common, I think, when people
totally change their lifestyle...until they get into the new rhythm of their life.
