Kid friendly comedy albums? (for 11 - 12 years old)

I'm thinking of Bill Cosby's albums, but not sure which ones.

Any other suggestions besides Cosby? Surely there are some more choices.

8. Mmmm, Steve's not ENTIRELY kid friendly
There are a few R-rated moments... paraphrased from faulty memory

"This woman I know had the best pussy..." (crowd goes nuts)
"Oh come on! I'm talking about her cat. I'm sorry, but it disgusts me that you can't say anything these days that people don't take dirty."
Punchline (sotto voce): "That cat was the best fuck I ever had."

3. Bill Cosby's albums are great if you can find them.

"Wonderfulness"

"Bill Cosby Is A Very Funny Fellow....Riight"

"I Started Out As A Child"

"To Russell My Brother..."

Actually, Steve Martin's albums are maybe a little advanced for 11-12 y.o.

On edit: Forgot "Why Is There Air?"

5. Check with big box stores
I found some of the old Cosby albums made as CDs at a big box stores. They are a hoot.

My favorite is Noah and the Ark...."how long can you tread water, ha ha ha ha"!

At that age, my brother and I were staying up late after my mom went to bed to watch Eddie Murphy and such.

11. Yes, my brother and I did that too!
But this CD would be for my nephew and his dad is much more of a prude about his kids than he was with himself!

Sometimes I think he and his wife are just waiting around for me (the crazy lib'rul) to try to corrupt their kids somehow. :eyes:

6. At that age...
I was listening to unedited George Carlin and Eddie Murphy. Yeah, my parents didn't care what I saw/heard. I turned out fine.

15. The reason I specifically asked for it to be kid friendly is because
it's not for my child, but for my nephew, so it's really not my call to decide that they can listen to anything. Better to be judicious in this circumstance.

7. Smothers Brothers...
They're ancient, but I think the bickering between the two brothers and the songs are pretty timeless. Not too many "Ike" jokes. There might be a few PG-13 innuendos now and then, but they're so oblique, I think they'd go over the head of any kids who are too young for them.

"Curb Your Tongue, Knave" is a good place to start... I think that's one of the only old albums available on CD. Can't vouch for anything recorded after 1975 though.

One of the things I like about DU is its collective wisdom on almost any obscure topic! :loveya:

12. Don't know about CDs, but what about books?

It's Jay Leno's jokes for kids. Don't know if your kid would like this, but the proceeds do go to a survivors' fund for fallen police officers' families.

Any of Bob Newhart's albums (or tapes or CD's or whatever).

Thinking about it, I don't recall any blue or questionable language in any of his routines. AND... the guy is really, really funny, too!
