How should I convince my mom that the protest on Jan 27 is totally worth going to?

Okay. So I told my mom about this, but she was all "I can't take off work/We won't have enough money". Then I told her that I could possibly earn some money to get us to go, so she leaned more to the "I can't take off work" side. Bullcrap. She took off work when we went to the Christian thing in California--and a flight to CA from Miss. is more exepensive than a flight to DC from Miss.

Maybe I should tell her it's a Christian anti-war protest...hmm...

Suggestions? Or I might just start a website asking people to sponsor me to go to the protest...:rofl:

It might be more persuasive to your mom, if you have the money in hand. Even if you don't get to go, you'll have a nice bit of savings.

They have a bus leaving Rochester, NY a bit after midnight for only $50 and are even offering scholarships if you can't pay. Maybe you have a peace group in your area that is organizing similar bus trips.

7. Urrgghh, my mom is being SO unreasonable!!!!!

I just talked to her and asked her if I could--hell--go alone. Get on a plane alone and meet someone (don't know who that would be) at the airport or something. Of course, she started freaking out and was like "NO! STOP BEING SELFISH!". I, then again, reminded her that we live in Mississippi aka HELL and that anti-war protests JUST DONT FUCKING COME to Missisippi. She then proceeded to tell me that we would have to travel and yada yada yada and that we can't go because she can't just "pick up and leave work". And then she started fucking bringing my GRADES into this...:grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

Well, she just fucking "pick(ed) up and left work" to go to a Christian thing in California (very spontanious). I'ts in FUCKING JANUARY, for chrissakes. If we fucking plan ahead of time, we can go to this.
