to be a little afraid. This time, sadly, it sounds more interesting than it is.

It's an anticipatory tingling.

heeee...actually, I'm starting the tamales today, which means I've got something like 50 jalapeno peppers downstairs waiting to be sliced into 6-8 strips. And I forgot to get latex gloves over the weekend :eyes

I've gotta work tonight and typing's gonna be tough if my fingers are burning.

I can't believe I forgot the gloves -- and the kids aren't home. Besides, last year when I got the kids to do it for me, two of them touched their mouths so this year they've said they're not going to do it. If #1 son was still living at home, he'd make the sacrifice, but not the others.

A lady who made her living selling them once offered to show me how to make them if I'd show her how to make boudin. We never got around to it, though.

26. They're not that hard...

but they're a pain in the ass and time-consuming, although I suppose I'd be more efficient at it if I did it for a living. Because of the altitude, I have to steam them for 90 minutes a batch and I don't have a tamale steamer so I can only do about a dozen at a time. As it is, I only make them once a year -- for #1 son's birthday (which is Thursday) -- so when I do, I make a couple hundred of them.

I've had my pork roasts cooking since Saturday afternoon (I did four of them) and today I start the rest of the process. Oughta take me about three days.
