Name something that has changed your life.....
I would say literature. I love to read and I love to write. It's pretty much what my life is nowadays. Specifically I would think that three authors have changed me, James Welch, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and most recently Cormac McCarthy. Made me focus on my own artistic gifts, as well as exploring my own identity and culture. I believe I see the world through a much different prism now than I did even 5 years ago.

3. Becoming a mother
Your whole perspective changes. It's all about them, nothing else matters as much. It is both frightening and wonderful at the same time.

16. The Internet
Found my soulmate there, and found out who I was. I came from a tiny little podunk rural Southern town. My view of the world was tiny and naive, and I was full of inhibitions and fear and ignorance.

Getting my first computer and getting online back in 1998 completely changed me, and my entire life.

literature for me also. I can even name some specific books - "Strange in a Strange Land" and "Metaphysical Club" There are many other books to be sure that influenced me to one degree or another, I should probably mention the "Iliad" and "Odyssey"

The second thing is the White Mountains of NH and ME. Or more specifically the hike up Mt Washington a few years back that reconnected me as an adult to the outdoors.

The thrid (though perhaps the most important so should've been listed first) My son. That perhaps sounds like a cliche, but just his existance and my connection to him changed me in totally unexpected ways. All for the better IMO.

24. Spontaneity
I've learned more in my life from being spontaneous, taking a chance, than from anything else. It's not that it always worked out well (though most of the time it did) but it always taught me valuable lessons. And it has always been worthwhile.

My 2 kids.

Literature and especially poetry.
