The africam is back. Yay!
Still no sound, but I see gnus and I think impalas in the background.

1. Well, I'm glad for the Lounge that it's back.
Although I secretly believe we were the ones who broke it.

6. I'm glad people are watching it!
I have turned several families on to this URL over the weekend. The kids are hoping to see something get eaten by something else.

8. One morning there was a snake eating something
and since I DON"T want to see that, I can't really tell you any more about it. If I'm watching and there is a lone prey animal there, I start telling it to go find its herd. :P

11. I would've liked to have seen that.
nature fascinates me.

I love Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, etc....

I have watched this cam a few times but all I ever see is just the animals roaming around.

I googled it but it isn't what I saw the other day when I clicked on a link that was posted here on DU.

15. Oops, sorry!
Try this:
http://www.wavelit.com/index.asp?ch=Wildlife&sh=africam

Or you can go to africam.com and click on "Nkorho Stream" on the left side of the page. They also have cam-related forums there with lots of still photos posted.

14. Nothing is going on now.
It's says it's 5:35 a.m. in Africa. I guess all of the animals are sleeping. :(

17. I really miss the sound.
Even when there are no animals there I enjoy hearing the birds. I hope they get it fixed soon.

18. I can't tell ya.
We don't have audio access to the computers here at work.

Question: All I see is a big watering hole. The other day when I looked, I thought they were at a different spot and the camera would pan in and out.

Are you seeing the same thing?

19. No, it's not just you.
One of the amps went out and they've had to order a replacement part.

Can you tell I've become just a little bit addicted to the africam? LOL.

The other day I saw so many animals but now there is nothing.
When is the best time of day to watch?

21. I'm usually able to check it in the morning and evening my time
I've seen the most animals around 7-10am Pacific time, which would be 5-8pm africam time. I often see some around this time of evening too, so 5-8am africam time.

There are people who operate the camera during the day and they'll pan around and zoom in and out on occasion. You can see a picture of the set-up in this post over there: http://www.africam.com/boma/viewtopic.php?t=1135
