22. Three weeks?
You must have good bones. My casts were 6-8 weeks. No need to give up karate, just tailor the workout, maybe even limit it to stretching for now, and footwork.

Sweating is a drag, just makes the cast itch and stink. Unless you get a removable cast so you can wash the arm, that'd make it more tolerable.

I broke my hand practicing karate, then went bobsledding three days later, so it had to be reset after a bumpy ride and tumble. Don't do anything as dumb as I did.

Regards.

17. I'll have to rely on the kindness of strangers
;)

The building maintenance office is sending someone over tomorrow to (hopefully) retrieve them. I'm sure groveling will be involved.

18. Sorr y to hear about it, Ava
I had broken my wrist a while back, and got the cast off too early. I had the worst case of tendinitis...it hurt much more than any pain from the break or the annoyance of the cast. It took a month of acupuncture for it to settle down.

You're still young, it'll heal quickly.

30. Oh, I'm fine hon
I just wanted to give you an idea what could happen if you get it off too soon. Perhaps it might make wearing the cast more bearable if you know the alternative. ;-)

21. Get a pencil, and use it to scratch. And remember, it could be worse.
I went through two casts on my wrist before they decided to install a Nylon replacement for the Navicular bone that refused to heal.

And at the time I was making jewelry for a living, so you can imagine how much fun that was.

Hang in there.

23. Sorry to hear it, Ava.
But you know about broken bones, healing stronger than they were and all.

Think of the itchiness as an exercise in Zen concentration. If you can make it go away, you will have achieved total consciousness.

Gunga galunga.
