Ouch, Owie, Waahhhhhh! My knee looks like a gray basketball.
I was crossing the street in front of my house today and went sliding. I landed on my left knee that I had broken a few years back and I could not get up. DS called 911 and I got hauled to the ER where they did a whack of x-rays. Nothing is broken but my leg looks like it has a gray basketball in the middle of it and it hurts like hell. Percocet is taking the edge off the pain but it still is a great big owie when I move. The stuff isn't even giving me a good buzz, damn it! I wish I could get to sleep.

1. Poor you! Had a fall on bad knee on Halloween
It puffed up like a balloon within seconds after the fall. Iced it with wrapped compressionand kept it elevated for the first 12 hours, and that helped a lot. Still can't get down on that knee...way too tender...major contusion. Had it 'rayed, nothing broken. The night my fall happened my DS also came to my rescue. Sons....love'em.

I feel your pain!!! Hope you are using ice (double-ziplock baggies of ice are easy to make--doubled to help keep the melted ice from dripping out), compression (ace bandages), and keeping it elevated.

Many

3. Awww
I've done that. (Basement stairs, foot got caught in the spindles on the way down and I kept going)

I'm glad nothing's broken, but that doesn't make the pain any easier to bear.
