I got carded earlier today. Guess what for?

I'm 23 years old. I got carded buying a used video game.

The really funny part?

Well, my next stop was at the liquor store to buy a bottle of my beloved Jameson 1780. Yeah, I didn't get carded there. So apparently, I look old enough to purchase whiskey, but not a beautifully violent video game.

1. Last time I got carded, was for a bottle

of lighter fluid, for my zippo....and I'm 29, and had a full on beard going...I can't remember the last time I got carded for alcohol...but I do get carded from time to time for cigs.

That remains my weirdest carding experience.

4. Yeah, I just thought it was funny that I got carded buying GTA3, but whiskey was no problem.

I thought the guy was joking at first. He was quite serious though.

Anyway, I bought it used for $5 and that's a great deal. Nothing like beating a hooker with a bat.

It was right after my 40th birthday, so that tripped me out a little.

Most people guess me at ten years younger, so I guess I could take it as an extreme compliment.

9. I think it sometimes depends on the person doing the carding.

Older folks seem to be more likely to card than younger ones, though when I was still getting carded - I was occasionally carded by someone obviously younger than I. Used to tick me off...until I finally decided to take it as a compliment.

You used to be able to make child support payments at the same tax collector's office where you renewed your license, tags, paid the electric bill, etc. One time I was asked to show my i.d. while making a child support payment to make sure I was who I said. I told the lady she could let anybody make those payments for me if they wanted to. What would or could it hurt?

Edit - it was a cash payment at that.
