I think it would be cool -

I'd love to see Flay versus Sakai and watch Sakai knock that obnoxious uncreative ass down about 47 pegs.

Or, just for a legitimate contest, I think a Sakai/Batali would be a fantastic contest, and one that really should get a 2-hour show.

1. There was Flay v. Morimoto twice.
But no real challenge between shows. Flay is an ass.

4. Flay? That overrated fry cook
wouldn't be much of a contest.

I saw the Flay vs. Morimoto matches. Didn't think my opinion of Flay could get any lower.

Before the "Iron Chef America" series, there was a 4 episode "Battle of the Masters" special, with Flay, Batali, and Wolfgang Puck for the US, against Morimoto and Sakai for Japan. Chen Kenichi was supposed to attend, but they said he was ill. The kitchen stadium was pretty much the same as Iron Chef America, with the same hosts.

Episode 1 - Flay vs Sakai, using trout. Flay wins

Episode 2 - Batali vs Morimoto, using lobster. Batali wins

Episode 3 - Puck vs Morimoto, using eggs. Puck wins

Episode 4 - Flay & Morimoto vs Batali & Sakai, using fui de mer. Flay and Morimoto win

7. Yes, something truly American! Deep fried cheese, perhaps.
Though SPAM is a great choice as well.
