To all potential Mary Worths out there |

I need advice. Didn't know what forum to go to with this, but, here goes. A friend of mine has a social disorder, like me, but far more severe. He's never had a meaningful relationship in his life. The other day he tells me he's gotten a date with a friend of mine. Trouble is, when I talked to her she denied any knowledge of seeing him. Today, he tried to introduce me, and she split before he could. And later on, I find out she's apparently a lesbian (not that there's anything wrong with that, needless to say). I don't know what a letdown like this could do to my friend, but it's really depressing me thinking of him either being played for a sap or grossly misinterpreting someone. I apologize if I'm turning this into a "Dear Abby" forum, but I need help.

If she's a friend of yours too can't you talk to her and find out what the deal is? If he's misunderstood, then tell her to set him straight. Good luck.

And once the story is gotten from the woman, would probably ask the friend to tell his story again, and see if there's some way to gently help to put things in the realm of reality.
Good luck!

You need to get them both in a room and hope she's a nice person, then cover your eyes.
