Police Find $500,000 Worth Of Cocaine On Beach
<snip>

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- Investigators are looking into why almost $500,000 worth of cocaine washed ashore at a Hollywood beach.

Police Captain Tony Rode said officers found about 37 kilograms of cocaine Tuesday morning wrapped tightly in cellophane. He also said the bundle was likely out at sea for a month before it reached land.

Rode said drugs are usually dumped into the ocean when people are being chased by the Coast Guard.

The clear cellophane was covered with barnacles.

8. Years ago, my husband found a bale of pot on the beach. It was sodden and there were crabs all over
it. I'd assume the crabs that were eating it were rather "happy".
