6. You know who I mean, and I'm surprised she wasn't in the original poll.
I guess people still think comedy is dominated by men.

19. I have a funny John Ritter story.
When we were in London, we went to see a play that Madonna (don't laugh) was in. Right before the play, I literally almost knocked Madonna down to the ground outside the theatre because it was really crowded and I didn't recognize her (huge fan) as I knocked into her as she was trying to get to the theatre for that evening's performance. In the audience that night, the buzz throughout the theatre was that Gwyneth Paltrow, who we also saw since she was seated right below us. What we didn't know was that John Ritter and his son were also in the audience.

After the play, we went to the pub across the street to grab a few beers. As I'm standing at the bar ordering our beers, my guy comes up next to me and whispers through clenched teeth, "Look beside you." Who was I standing next to? John Ritter. Pretty cool, I thought. Even cooler was he and his son ended up sitting right next to us after we got our drinks. We were sitting with two other Americans who we just met as we sat down. We were all smoking and we think it started to bother him so he and his son got up to move to another table. Now, if you've ever been to a pub in London, most have those little tiny stools that are maybe a foot tall.

What happens to John Ritter when he got up to move? He got all tangles up with the stool and tripped over it and almost falls flat on his ass, spilling his beer every where.

I guess some actors are just naturals.

Lucille Ball, she's the Queen!

I'll vote Jim Carrey as the Prince.

Rowan's also the King of Snide Comedy.

Dick van Dyke was great, as is Rowan Atkinson, and I'll add Larry Hagman, who was great in Jeannie, and John Astin for his work in Addams Family.

But, Laurel and Hardy, to answer your question.

39. All the greats have been mentioned
I will add the best bit of slapstick I've seen in the past 10 years.

The episode of 'Frasier' where Niles tries to iron the crease in his pants and ends up setting fire to his brother's couch. So funny and not a word of dialogue.
