I don't like anyplace outside of California
Except for British Columbia and Tokyo. And Tuscany is nice. And Cabo has some things going for it. And I kind of like London. But THAT'S IT!

1. You can't blame the DUer who said she didn't like California. Victorville/Hesperia
is a nasty place and a bit of a cultural shock for anyone who isn't used to ugly, overcrowded spaces. I should know, I lived there for 25 years, just went back for a visit in '04 after being gone since '92. The place is even worse than I remember it too be. It just sucks! If she ventures down the hill, she'll will have a better idea of what a great state California is. It is so diverse in landscape, climate and people. Given time and exploration, I bet she will come to like California. I would suggest a visit to San Diego or any of the beach towns and a drive up the coast. Take a day trip to Big Bear, even closer to her and smell the pines, play in the snow! Man I am homesick!

2. The reaction she received
probably would have been a lot better had she not used her experience in one crappy-ass city to claim that the entire state sucked.

I think we can all understand why someone would hate Hesperia. That doesn't excuse a thread titled "I hate California".

6. I agree she should have said she hated the High Desert area and who wouldn't.
I'll give her a pass until she experiences other part of California. And I believe she said that she didn't like California, not that she hated it.

3. OK, fine. But I'm NOT going to be petty, and say I don't like anywhere in Calfornia.
I like the desert a lot. And Owens Valley, Panamint Valley, Darwin Falls, and Death Valley in particular.

Also Bodie. And Eureka. Not to mention Volcano.

4. Bits of Oregon are rather nifty.
But I do indeed like California. Drove the whole length up and down this time last year and it was just beautiful.
