Hmmm...Beatles "Hey Jude" video discovery...I think

First, sorry if linking to You Tube is frowned upon or even passe. But I've not really had steady internet access for around 7-8 months. So I haven't been around here while YT has absolutely blown up.

Anyhow...

I'm old enough to remember this airing on Smothers Brothers, I think it was. Wow. It felt like the world was changing right before yr eyes.

This version has live vocals from Paul and group and audience, with some other parts as prerecord. At 5:25-33, *I think* Paul is quoting/referencing, what had to be a certain song--current at the time--by The Band, is he not?

Sorry if this is old news to all, esp Beatles fans, but I know some true fanatics and I don't believe I ever heard this particular bit of trivia.

The whole thing is shot full of chills...the intro, the spot you mention where I believe John has missed his harmony line, the smiles, the way Paul sings "hey ju-uu-ude" in wind down fashion on the last pass, and all the this before the "better, better, better, better" section.

10. This was from a David Frost show.

It was on the Anthology. Frost comes out and introduces the group as the greatest tea-room orchestra
in the world, they play a little of Frost's theme song, then go into Jude.

I was shopping at Trader Joe's the other day and they had a Beatles tune playing. For a split second, I had the greatest wave of nostalgia come over me and I sorely missed that glorious period of my life.
