The salad is the best part of any meal I eat.
That just occurred to me tonight as I started dinner. I believe that means I'm an adult now.

I still have my favorites for entree and sides, but I look forward to the salad most of all. In fact, two or three times a week that's all I have.

1. I had a damn good salad yesterday.

Just a big ass wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with blue cheese and walnuts.

Not sure what kind of dressing it was, but damn it was good.

That shit was gooder than hell.

2. Blue cheese.
*drool*

And I'm not even picky about my salad -- just some greens, a little dressing.

3. I had a great restaurant salad a few weeks ago...
Spinach, pecans, green apple slices, dried cranberries, blue cheese chunks, apple vinaigrette dressing.

My home salads are usually just mixed greens, whatever veggies are on hand, and light dressing.

4. Apple vinaigrette?
I've never had it, but it sounds pretty good. Sweet and a little tangy?

10. I Love Raspberry Vinagrette
a friend of mine makes killer salads and she makes her own dressings usually too, and the Raspberry vinagrette is to die for.

:applause:

11. If you're ever in Boise, go have a salad at the Piper Pub downtown.
They make the best raspberry vinaigrette ever.

12. Been A While Since I Have Been To Boise
I grew up in Logan Utah, so I know that area fairly well.

But thanks for the suggestion.

6. Where but for the grace of salad, go I.
No, really. It's my number one consumption meal. Mostly raw, what a great food.

5 days a week, usually. I'm a sucka for spinach.

8. Spinach -- one of my favorites.
I also go nuts for butter lettuce.

9. Oh yeah...I love it too!
Too bad it's so much more expensive than other greens.

14. I lived this salad for a year, I was addicted:
"leafy greens" (baby greens, spring greens, etc.)
walnuts
gorgonzola
red wine vinaigrette.

Fantastic salad!

15. Nothing wrong with that at all, not a damn thing.
I rarely add cheese, just because I find greens so refreshing and good without sidekicks, but you're making me hungry. Next time at the store, I'll have to grab some gorgonzola. And Left Is Write has me thinking I need to find apple vinaigrette.
