Day #2 of Rick Santorum's retirement - how has your world changed
I've noticed a happier lilt to my step each day and how when I wake up in the morning the sun shines just a lil bit brighter than normal. Then I realized - I'm living in a world where Rick Santorum can no longer make decisions that could affect my life.

I saved the cork from the champagne that Ramsey and I had to celebrate Santorum's last day! It's my reminder that if you fight hard you can make a change!

4. I feel that way about Tom Delay.
Knowing he isn't in office and fucking up Texas anymore makes me happy. We got rid of Bonilla yesterday too! Woo hoo! :bounce:

6. Old senators never retire, they become lobbyists
Edited on Wed Dec-13-06 11:38 AM by DaveTheWave
"I'm living in a world where Rick Santorum can no longer make decisions that could affect my life."

The lobbyist's clients make the decisions that affect our lives, jobs, health care, not the senators. Even the war. Defense contractors pay big bucks for war. Except for things like "protecting the institution of marriage from the gays" that are hard-right core constituent issues.

15. Perfect
Now when his defense contractor buddies and Halliburton want more war and both democratic controlled houses don't, he'll threaten to go on Hannity's TV show and tell the whole world that democrats don't want America to be safe from terrorists because they don't support the war against it.

14. My Repuke State Rep. replied to my email in a matter of hours...
not the matter of months that it took last time I emailed him (about something hugely more important). And this is in PA too!

19. The birds were chirping before sunrise this morning
actually they continued chirping before each sunrise all through Icky Ricky's tenure in office, but it did seem they were in particularly fine voice today... :-)
