The ironies of this dragon riding movie

First irony-the title song IS the first rule of dragon riding

"Keep Holding On" by Avril Lavigne

I thought that was pretty much understood. :eyes:

The second irony- I understand that the writer started this just after finishing high school (apparently a "selling point" to some) either he didn't have a good spell check or no one informed him but he seems to have written the whole thing one key stroke off.

It is spelled Dragon not Eragon (the D is down and to the right of the E down and to the right).

2. I always wanted to live on Pern!

I seriously have a lot of catching up to do. I've read six of the books, but kind of ran out of reading time after The White Dragon. I had no idea there were 18 books in the series...or that McCaffrey was even still alive and writing (she's gotta be in her 90's by now).

I did hear recently that she had optioned the rights for a movie. It will be interesting to see how well they capture the story on the big screen (it will probably translate well, but I always thought it would make a better TV series than a movie).

3. eh? It's nothing like McCaffrey's books.

Just because there are dragons and people riding them - means nothing. I've read dozens of books (by different authors) about flying dragons and the people who ride them.
