3. They ran away
just after I hit post. The momma one was skittish the whole time and made the rest skittish when she jumped.

Captures.

17. Hey! Good job!
I saw zebras the other night too, but I missed them today. I've seen giraffes and one elephant. Still have yet to see a predator however.

5. I missed the close up
while getting the zebras ready to post. Sounds like it was a good miss.

I may never get anything done around here again with this cam on.

13. Welcome to DU.
adding captures of the hyenas here. Then I have got to try to work away from the cam. It is addictive.

11. I keep thinking Gary Larson would have a field day with the Africam
I can think of at least 5 different strips he could do just off the top of my head. Too bad he's not doing that anymore.

CC are all of those your ferrets? YOu must have a houseful.

And yes they are all my ferrets, though only 7 here right now. Staying away from the local ferret rescue, very far away. My cats, dogs and birds too. I think we have reach max on all of them though. The house is full but full of love and laughter. I do not see myself ever not having at least 2 ferrets even if they don't live long enough. Course the African Gray is only 9 years old and if he stays healthy I won't even be birdless either.

I'm scared of the big birds, however, having had a conure that adored biting me...I can't imagine what that feels like coming from one of the bigger parrots.

One of the hyenas is back at the watering hole! Or was, now I think it's gone again... :(

edit :

Holy Shit, freaky weird noises going on right now....

16. now isn't the best time
cause it's dark there. As best I can tell they are 7 hours ahead of me, and I'm on eastern standard time. Sometimes if you see the thread jump to the top it means something is at the water hole. If it's something really cool like elephants or zebras someone will post about it. The animals seem a little more jumpy at night and don't stay at the water hole long, probably because some of their predators are nocturnal.

here's a little about the province where that game reserve is, if I got it right.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mpumalanga It was kind of hard to find.

19. I just keep it on full screen when I'm not on the computer
and glance at it everytime I go by. Early morning (I get up around 5:30) I've seen giraffes and zebras, also the baboons and some cool birds are frequently around. The wildebeests I've seen later in the day and hyenas at night. The elephant I saw was at night around 10:30 EST I think. Bunch of deer like critters come around in the daytime over there as well. You'll see something soon, you'll see.
