I was surprised she knew about Germany and Austria and their proximity. Most kids her age don't even seem to know where Canada and Mexico are.
I may print out a map of Europe for her to look at, though. She'd like that.

was to a 48-yr-old yesterday. Started with the Baltic, then to Finland vis a vis Russia. It went, well, pretty well.
Geography was my favorite subject, even in first grade. Grew up with maps and Natl Geo in the house.
