Who here remembers "Xanadu"?

Quite possibly the GREATEST movie ever made!

It had Olivia!

It had disco!

It had roller skating!

It had roller disco!

It had Gene Kelly!

It had the Tubes!

It had ELO!

In fact, it may be so horrific that it has some entertainment value.

11. To find the sacred river Ralph...
Prior to reading Coleridge, I always wondered why anyone would name a river after someone named Ralph.

Great jam, though! One of their better pieces.

16. there was an AWESOME play of it in West Hollywood about 5 years ago
it was truly the funniest thing I have ever seen. It was the movie, word for word (no changes at all) but on stage with actors who looked and sounded like Olivia, Michael Beck and Gene Kelly. and it was SO FUNNY! I can't even describe it but I had tears streaming down my face. I can only hope that is what they are doing off-Broadway. it played at the Zephyr Theater in WeHo and it was sold out for its entire run.

13. Ahh...Olivia. My first crush.
Well, probably not my first crush. But my first celebrity crush, defninitely.

Oh, the movie was horrible. But I couldn't stop staring at Olivia as she skated across the screen. (I think that was the point)

Oh boy, was that movie horrible.

15. I saw it in the theatre.
I had one just down the street, so every week I just went to see whatever was there. One week, this was there. I was nine and didn't really know what to make of it. Beside me, in the darkness, my little brother began to softly cry.

18. and don't forget who directed it...
Robert Greenwald, director of many recent anti-Bush documentaries. Olivia once said that she asked him, during the making of Xanadu, what kind of music he liked. He replied, "I don't like music." :-)
