3. Ahhh I remember those days |
|
Long ago but not forgotten. I was even one of those *gasp* extended nursers. My last child was over 2 when she weaned, my middle was only 11 months (his choice), and my first was over 2 years as well.
Many a night I was up and about, in the dark, in the quiet. Looking back, it was probably some of the best times in my life.

Have you tried co-sleeping? I got much more sleep when I nursed in bed, believe me. As they got older, I would move into their rooms, in the rocking chair by the crib. Nurse them to sleep and put them down.

I had c-section. Still recovering, have to sit in rocking chair w/boppy pillow. its still too uncomfortable to nurse in bed. I have a co-sleep basinet, i don't like to have her in our bed if I can help it, though i've done it a couple of times.

18. All mine were c-sections as well |
|
so I understand the discomfort. In the beginning I had them lay on top of me to nurse, since laying sidways was soooo uncomfortable. I had pillows on each side of me to prop up my arms and they lay across me. I could do the football hold that way too.
It was so tough those first few months though. You certainly have my empathy.

I'm afraid he remembers those days sometimes.

So, how do you like the weather we're having? And, did you know that on MPBN right now there is a terrible modern ballet about the stories of the criminally insane? When you want to fall asleep, you might want to check it out!

bothers me more than it does your average New Englander. I figure that once I'm here for a quarter century it might become acceptable but I'm not sure.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9UA-JSBm90This clip gives me an evil laugh. I guess because it's Fox News reporters. Hope this makes you laugh a bit. There's something about her aggressive grape stomping right before the result that makes me laugh.

Maybe it's the obnoxious Fox News reporter falling flat on her face and her colleagues barely able to keep composure.
How old is the little duder? My sister is at a month and at her wits end, but keeping it together.

i actually get sleep though, when i manage to get her to stay asleep in her basinet. 4-5 hour streches. then when she naps during the day i'll try to do the same, but it doesn't usually happen because i'm so wide awake.
a suggestion for your sis. when my hubbie comes home, he gets baby, and i go and get a shower and a nap. it may work for her. she can pump and have a bottle ready so dad doesn't have to wake her up.

We've been trying to get her to understand that she doesn't have to be the only one responsible...for EVERYTHING. But my hubby and I and out BIL have tried everything, and I think things may be changing, but she thinks that she needs to be around the little dude 24/7.
She's also having probs with little dude not taking to breast milk and has switched to a really expensive formula. Little dude may have gastro probs.

But we can all have a good laugh at other people's messiness.
Christ, if there was a camera set up in my house, maybe I'd know why there's a massive bruise on my left elbow and left-side rib cage. I'm sure we'd all get a good laugh out of how that happened.
