help - rear view mirror fell off!
i know what to do, but i can't get the metal thingy to slide out of the mirror in order to re-glue
to the windshield.

it's a mazda.

1. heat it....
Hold the metal thingy over a gas flame for 30 seconds or so and pull it off with pliers.

2. There is usually a small set screw holding the metal piece to the mirror
at least the 2 times I've done it.

i finally got it off. i ended up prying it out with a small screw driver. don't know if it was the right way but it's out.
