I just got my husband his "big" xmas present
He's been drooling over the West Wing box set for a while now but I told him there was no way we could afford it so we would have to start buying the series by individual seasons.

Well as it turns out, I was lying. :D I knew he wouldn't research the cost himself so I told him it was $400. Sucker believed me.

My lying really paid off too because as luck would have it, Amazon has it on sale for $189. It's still not cheap but seeing the look on his face when he opens it will be worth every cent. I probably won't make it easy for him though. I think I'll wrap it in a box in a box in a box. I grew up with twisted parents who taught me the joys of prank wrapping for the really special gifts. ;)

1. Excellent Gift
I remember a Christmas in the early 60's when my Dad gave my Mom a watch. He wrapped it in several boxes. The last one was a box a refrigerator came in. The whole living room was full of paper. A good time was had by all.

3. ROFL!
That's awesome!

Another fun trick is when you have something real small (like concert tickets or a gift card, etc), take a huge box and tape the small thing in the middle of the box so it's suspended in the middle. My parents did this to me when I was a kid and the fact that a huge, light box didn't have anything in it that rattled was very frustrating. The over use of tape can be fun as well as packing light stuff with bricks.

I come from a family that truly believes nothing is worth it if it can't make you laugh a little. It's a good way to grow up I think.

4. yep. but now I know I can't divorce him
I have no plans of divorce but if I ever start thinking about it, the West Wing box set will have to go in the "con" category.
