Cheesy Christmas gathering where I'll be expected to wear
the classic "Christmas sweater" with a spangled tree on it, and hanging Santa Claus earrings. I don't wanna! Is it okay to go to a Christmas party with absolutely nothing festive on except maybe some diamonds? I have to decide quickly. Skirt? Pants? Oh wait, I don't have any dress pants. I'm screwn. :(

5. That's what I'm hoping. I'm leaving straight from
the party to go out so I have to find a balance. Good jewelry but relatively casual clothes... not that anybody cares after a couple of eggnogs anyway. Hi, sweetie!

7. Unlikely!
Unless I look fabulous which I'm not anticipating. I don't like these types of parties... and I will only know the hostess.

10. I am going out to have a drink afterward. If I find the right skirt, I'll do that.
I'm off to wax my eyebrows, lol.

4. I'm Jewish. I don't own any Christmas stuff, but I do attend Christmas parties.
Wear what you want, so long as you're wearing something at the appropriate level of formality for the gathering. You will discover nobody will notice you're not wearing Christmas- or winter-specific kitsch.

11. You make a fine point.
Why do I always feel compelled to do the red and green thing? I won't, tonight.

I think I'll have to find a way to please me first :)

12. Sure!
Just hang a tiny piece of mistletoe from the back of your waistband and invite anyone who'd like to know why you're not more festively attired to kiss your ass.

15. I'd heard such parties existed, but I didn't quite believe it...
I'm partial to those earrings that light up. On others, though, not myself.

22. Two options:
Always a winner:

And the more conservative approach, but festivus anyways:

Though choices, I know!

24. I wore my mud cloth scarf, a t-shirt with a Romare Bearden
painting on it, black jeans, an embroidered jacket and motor-cycle- type boots to a work party. I didn't feel like doing the red/green/ Santa thing. I've already exhausted the red and black velvet stuff for the last month, so it's back to what I usually wear.

Or I drag all my festive ethnic or spangly vests out of the closet. That usually covers it. Wear what you want.

I guess you could just wear only diamonds. THat would make a statement!
