RCMP in western Alberta ask for public's help to find missing zebra

(CP) - Zounds! Zebastian the zebra's on the loose! RCMP in western Alberta are asking members of the public to keep their eyes peeled for an animal of an unusual stripe in the area's snowy landscape.

The zebra disappeared from a pasture near Carrot Creek, about 150 kilometres west of Edmonton, in late November or early December, said Const. Curtis Peters.

He said the animal's owner, who lives in Calgary, sent Zebastian to the region for a bit of time alone.

"He had difficulty socializing with other horses. He became more aggressive as he got older, so she had him moved out here where he could be by himself and enjoy his peace and quiet, and not bother anybody else," said Peters.

Peters warns that Zebastian, who is about the size of a pony, looks a little different from the typical zebra.
