List masterpieces and who made them.
Masterpieces in any field of human endeavor, whether it is in arts, engineering, science, social or political deed, whatever. Something that someone did which is complete, lasting, and is a masterpiece. One dictionary defines "masterpiece" as:

1. a person's greatest piece of work, as in an art.
2. anything done with masterly skill: a masterpiece of improvisation.
3. a consummate example of skill or excellence of any kind: The chef's cake was a masterpiece.

And Welle's Citizen Kane, Touch of Evil, F for Fake, and pretty much everything else he did.

4. Kinkade's masterpiece is the creation of the Kinkade Industry
His paintings are all shit - not an iota of art in them.

But the way that he sells the fucking things, the aura he creates around being a "collector", is sheer marketing brilliance, and in the world of marketing, Kinkade has created what could be, perhaps, the greatest masterpiece of the last 100 years.

So in that sense, yes, Kinkade has created a truly magnificent and awe-some masterpiece.

2. David Lynch's Mulholland Drive
Some would argue Eraserhead, but I think Mulholland Dr. is better.

Empire agrees, apparently.

7. From what I've heard, it's staying at three hours.
It's playing a few places around the US now, slightly wider rlease in early '07. I think the dvd is expected to be out sometime in the summer of '07.
