3. My memories are kind of dim
But I think that either mr brother or I convinced Santa to bring one of those things. Of course, my parents, good Civil Rights liberals that they were, confiscated the battle flag.

4. I don't see how that toy makes the "most dangerous list"
Spring fired plastic cannonballs? I could imagine my brothers and I getting a few and having a "war", but it wouldn't be dangerous, especially considering the dirt-clod/rock neighborhood pretend wars we fought. Those continued until someone was bleeding.

The Lawn Darts, now THAT was dangerous. We used to have contests to see who would be the last person to run out of the "circle of death".

5. OMG! My older brother had one of these! And it was dangerous!
Edited on Sat Dec-16-06 11:26 AM by Whoa_Nelly
It required actually pounding black powder down in to the barrel. One night when he was doing that, it exploded in his face. He received a flash burn. Luckily he closed his eyes, but he burned off his eyebrows and lashes, and his skin looked like a very bad sunburn +++. Guess he shouldn't have been right in front of the cannon when loading it...

On edit:

After looking at the ad again, it calls it spring-loaded. So, it is most likely my brother was using black powder because he wanted to, not because it required it.

This was back in the 60s. He was about 15. Guess my brother was the mosre dangerous of the two toys... :eyes:
