Recommendations for a cell phone headset with an amplifier?
I don't need any of those Bluetooth things, just a simple 2.5mm jack headset earphone/microphone. However, I need one with a built-in amplifier. I have one that I got at Radio Shack, but the battery compartment would not stay closed, and the batteries and compartment door slowly disappeared.

Thoughts?

Jabra BT-250v headset.

It's about $60 and suits my hearing loss problem. It's a little scratchy in the background at times, but the microphone gives clear results. The price/performance ratio makes the scratchy static noise tolerable.

The Motorola H-700 (ends in 700) for $110+ is a waste of money. The scratchy static noises are far worse.

I liked the Gennum NxZen, as it was clear and crisp with NO static at all, but was too quiet - hard to hear people in a car or in the living room with any fan or computer turned on.

I used to look for a wired amplifier, but none was to be found. Even fewer for Nokia, with its proprietary 1.5mm connector. :(

Edit: Clarification; misread part of OP :(

5. Unfortunately, I don't think my phone is Bluetooth-compatible.
Motorola v265. We're not eligible for the "New Every Two" upgrade until this May.
