Have you ever seen someone who looked exactly like someone that has passed away?
I was shopping this morning, and saw a man who looked exactly like my father who had passed away many years ago. They could have been identical twins. This man even dressed the way my father did. In those few seconds before reason kicked in, I lost my breath and my heart started beating really fast. It was so shocking.

1. there is a DU'er who looks similar to my dad
at least in my eyes. not exactly, but very similar.

i've had a few instances of seeing a person in the distance who looked just like my older brother did and then getting close to them, they wouldn't look like him at all. it always leaves me with a weird sick feeling. i actually got to know my brother so those instances actually affect me.

2. I used to see a lady who looked like my grandmother.
I'd see her at DeLaurentis in Seattle nearly every Saturday. It was very eerie.

Maybe there's something to the Elvis sightings, eh?

3. Yes, I have.
Quite a few times I've been stunned to see
my brother's doppleganger.

Here he is, holding my son, twenty-two years ago:

4. Several times
Most times it's been not long after the death - I've read that this isn't uncommon. You see someone who bears a resemblance to someone who is very much on your thoughts and there's a moment of heart-stopping recognition because you KNOW it can't be who you instinctively feel it is. That's a really odd feeling and most of the time, the person will turn and you'll see that the resemblance is fairly superficial.

But I've also seen people who very closely resembled someone who's been long gone and who wasn't in my thoughts at all and that's an even stranger feeling. Shocking indeed.

5. Yes. I travelled to B.C. for my grandfather's funeral. I hadn't
seen him for maybe three or four years before his death. Anyhow I reached my grandmother's house, rang her doorbell, and almost fainted when a man who looked IDENTICAL to my grandfather opened the door and said, "You must be Lisa." Of course it was one of his thirteen siblings, one I'd never before met. I had to give him a hug just because he looked so much like Grampa.

7. Wow, That Is A Trip!
I've had a recurring dream, that I've never really found any meaningful connection to anything in my life.

I am somewhere in British Columbia, and I live there. It is beautiful and the scenery is so real as to be surreal.

That and a dream I had once where I was in "Wilmington, Massachusetts", a place I had NEVER heard of or any recollection of hearing of anyhow. It was also so real as to be surreal. I even got out an Atlas and low and behold, a small berg in the general vicinity (probably a suburb) of Boston- there it is!

I can't figure that one out either.

Am I supposed to be in one of those places? How in the hell did I dream of a place so small on a map, that I'd never heard of, and, well...

The BC dream is stranger to me because it seemed to have a more powerful emotional impact on me for some reason. I even looked into moving there, (not exactly sure where "there" was) but at the time my mother was dying, and moving farther away from her and her only grandson didn't seem practical. I did get on some registry for employment there. Never heard a thing from them so I guess they have plenty of people there qualified to do what I do.

6. Yes, One Of My Best Friends
seems to look like an avatar on DU of I think Al Pacino

I also dream a lot of times that he isn't really dead.

He fell off a cliff 14 years ago. Lots of unanswered questions about his death.

I've thought many times I've seen him places.

Of all the people I've known that are dead, he seems to be the hardest for me to accept his loss for some reason?
